There were unrepressed children's
thoughts throughout. In the empirical story of the traces of leaves that
caterpillars have gnawed.
In other words, we can infer their habits, characteristics,
family relationships, status of the ego, emotional states,
mental states, and creativities from the stories that the children
created. This means the children did not show direct emotions,
but their present feelings in experiencing ¡®the method
of eaten traces.¡¯
In childhood, children will be most influenced by the
environment. The environments is provided by parents,
friends, teachers and other influences. In these environments,
children used the language which is closely related to
their environment in their empirical stories. Also, they
can express their desire without any struggle and adjust
their ego without showing hardships.
We can learn the children's characters from the characteristics
in the story. Through the stories we can see children's
emotional background or sensitive response of interaction
of past emotional environment and present feeling. In
addition, normal, aggressive, regressive, or inadaptable
feelings are expressed in the language of children within
an age group.
The ability to recognize colors enables children to control
their feelings and expressions about the changes of textbooks
along with their inner world. They use a lot of expressions
to describe the changes of textbooks, and their illustrations
show their preferences of colors somewhat.
In the case of the 4 to 7 age group, the concept of color
does not mean much, and the object itself is more important
to observe. Color is not related to the mental state,
and the most impressive color in a picture is recognized
as their favorite color, so that their preferred colors
often change depending on the pictures.
The methodologies of these textbooks, ¡®traces of leaves
caterpillars gnawed,¡® help children not only display their
emotions and have satisfaction which increases self-confidence,
but also improve the language ability as well as fill
their wants. There is one point of sameness to talk over
and share with among children while they read the books:
the pictures enable kids to express their mental state,
explore their identity, understand themselves, and grow
their social abilities and respect for other people.
